After enlisting in the U.S. Army in September 2001, he went on to serve 15 years, including time in the Tennessee Army National Guard.</strong> His years in uniform shaped his belief that leadership is not about words; it's about action, about honor, and about putting people above politics.</p><p>Raised in a small town by a single mother after the death of his father, Chaney understands grit, perseverance, and the value of community. Those lessons guide him today as a <strong>proud husband and father of three</strong>. <h3>Protect the Right to Vote</h3><p>Support secure, accessible elections and ensure every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.</p><h3>Overturn Citizens United</h3><p>Support constitutional and legislative reforms that reduce the influence of unlimited corporate and special interest money in politics so elected officials are accountable to voters, not wealthy donors.</p><h3>Establish Congressional Term Limits</h3><p>Support term limits for members of Congress, including a limit of six two-year terms in the House of Representatives and two six-year terms in the United States Senate. Medical decisions should be made between patients, their loved ones, and healthcare professionals.</p><h3>Protect Reproductive Freedom</h3><p>Support access to contraception, fertility treatments such as IVF, and reproductive healthcare. Oppose federal efforts that restrict personal medical decisions and support policies that protect the ability of women to make decisions about their own healthcare.</p><h3>Defend Equal Rights Under the Law</h3><p>Support equal treatment and legal protections for all Americans, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or whom they love.</p><h3>Promote Fair Representation</h3><p>Support efforts that ensure communities are fairly represented and that voters choose their elected officials rather than elected officials choosing their voters.</p><p></p><p><strong>Democracy is not self-sustaining. It depends on citizens who participate, institutions that earn public trust, and leaders who put country before party and service before self-interest. Protecting freedom and securing democracy means safeguarding both our democratic institutions and our individual liberties. Together, we can strengthen our democracy, protect personal freedom, and ensure that government remains accountable to the people it serves.</strong></p>

<p>Our democracy works best when government is accountable to the people, elections are fair and accessible, and individual freedoms are protected. Those freedoms include the right to vote, the right to speak freely, the right to practice one's faith, and the right to make personal decisions about healthcare, family, and private life without unnecessary government interference. Americans may not always agree on policy, but we should be able to agree that elected officials should serve the public interest, respect the Constitution, and uphold the rule of law. Rebuilding trust requires meaningful reforms that strengthen accountability, reduce corruption, protect personal freedom, and ensure government remains of, by, and for the people.</p>

As someone who grew up in rural Tennessee and has spent much of my career working alongside farmers, educators, and community leaders, I believe Congress should make strategic investments that strengthen agriculture, support local economies, and ensure rural communities remain strong for future generations.</p>
